Bauchi State Government To Deduct 10% Of Civil Servants' Salaries

                                        

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has decided to start deducting 10% of civil servants' salaries in the state starting from this month. The move according to the state's Head of Service was necessitated by the financial challenges and dwindling financial resources affecting the three tiers of government. He further stated that the move was batter than the earlier plan by the state government to sack 50% of its work force, before an agreement was reached between the government and Labour Union leaders. Meanwhile, the state's Labour leaders have gone into hiding for fear of not being attacked by workers in the state. I just hope that the government is genuinely broke, and would use the money saved judiciously and not squander it.
