Henry Wolf, San Francisco Man, Sues BMW, Claiming Ride Gave Him Two-Year Erection, if you've watched television at any point over the last decade or so, you're probably familiar with the warning that comes at the conclusion of commercials for erectile dysfunction remedies advising gentlemen using the drugs to consult a doctor if their erections last longer than four hours.
But what if you had an erection that stuck around for considerably longer than that--say two years--and it arose not after taking a pill but following a motorcycle ride?
That's precisely what San Francisco resident Henry Wolf alleges happened to him. Wolf is suing both the bike's manufacturer, BMW of North America, and the company that made the bike's after-market

An Oil Well In Every Privileged Pocket by Sonala Olumhense
Just over one year ago, I endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari for President of Nigeria. I argued that in view of the monumental corruption mountain before Nigeria, he was the best candidate on the2011 presidential slate. The following month, Nigerians stepped into the examination hall. One Attahiru Jega, given the job of heading the electoral commission, designed the hall in the form of a ballot box.
Now, some of us cannot prove we have ever visited a classroom, let alone that we have ever taken an academic examination of any kind. Many people presumptuously consider an honorary academic title to be

The Devil and Our Rulers by Sonala Olumhense
For a long time, I was of the view that Nigerians, especially their rulers, were responsible for Nigeria’s woes. Last Sunday, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan identified for us the idiot who has held us down for over 50 years: The devil.
The President of Nigeria was speaking at the First Batptist Church in Garki, Abuja, to mark the New Year. “When you compare Nigeria to other nations,” he said, “Nigeria is not moving fast enough…We have our challenges and that is where the devil comes in and puts road blocks.”
Osun Pupils To Get Free School Uniforms
Premium Times has reported that about 750,000 pupils in public primary schools in Osun are to benefit from the state government’s free uniforms during the 2012/2013 academic session.
Titilayo Tomori, the Deputy Gov., disclosed this at the Fountain of Hope Society First Anniversary and Investiture of Grand Patroness and Patron of the Anglican Communion Diocese of Osun on Sunday in Osogbo.
Mrs. Tomori said the uniform would cover pupils in all 30 Local Government Areas of the state, including Modakeke area office.
She said that professional tailors in the state would sew the uniforms to boost their incomes.
``It is meant to encourage attendance and retention of pupils in public schools and to assist the less privileged to enjoy the dividends of democracy across the state.’’
She said that Gov. Rauf Aregbesola had also approved the reconstruction of more than 400 kilometres of inter-state roads.
She said it was part of the effort to transform the state to an ``enviable height'' among its peers in the country.
According to her, when the roads are completed, they will facilitate the socio-economic development of the state.
She added that the roads would link Osun with Ogun to allow easy access to Lagos State.
Earlier, Rev. Paul Ojo of the Cathedral Church Osun, urged Christians to avoid sin and continue walking in the ``ways of the Lord'' to succeed in all endeavours.
Ojo advised members of the society not to worry about the development of the group as it would grow with time.
He admonished the Deputy Governor not to allow wrong advisers to mislead her, saying that she should try to serve God and obey His commandments.
``For what will it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul.’’

Understanding Jonathan’s Deepest Fear by Sonala Olumhense
I do not know if, last weekend, President Goodluck Jonathan gave “transport money” to the leaders of the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress, collectively referred to as the Labour Movement, to encourage them to abandon the nationwide protest.
Remember: last week, the Movement was roaring like an injured lion. And then, curiously, it entered this week spread-eagled like an overpaid prostitute.
Not a kobo less than N65, the Movement had declared it was screaming into the ears of the government, not one brown kobo less. And then, as the Labour leaders vanished into the mists of history, President
Secret Boko Haram detention centre in Lagos?
A foreign agency report on Thursday, quoting an unnamed top security official, says the government has opened a secret centre in Lagos “to hold and interrogate suspected high-level” members of the violent Islamic sect.
“The prison is in Lagos, far from the violence plaguing the country’s predominantly Muslim north, where Boko Haram carries out frequent bombings and ambushes,” the American Associated Press reports quotes the top security official as said.

Justice Mariam Aloma, has been nominated to replace Justice Dahiru Musdapher as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, come July 16 when Musdapher will retire.
However, her appointment is subject to ratification by the Presidency.
This came as Justice Musdapher, yesterday, debunked insinuations that he resigned his appointment, saying he only wrote to the National Judicial Council, NJC, to expedite process for the swearing-in of his successor on July 16.
'How NNPC, marketers, PPPRA defrauded Nigeria’ The Nation Newspaper
Based on the facts, issues and investigative interactions, the Committee hereby makes the following recommendations for the consideration and approval of the House.
1 From the findings of this Committee the consumption level for 2011 is estimated at 31.5 million liters per day. However, in 2012 marginal increment of 1.5milion liters a day is recommended in order to take care of unforeseen circumstances, bringing it to 33 million liters per day. And to maintain a strategic reserve, an additional average of seven (7) million liters per day (or 630milllion litres per Quarter) for the first quarter of 2012 only is recommended. Thus, PPPRA is to use 40 million litres of PMS in the first quarter as its maximum ordering quantity per day. In subsequent quarters PMS daily ordering quantity should be 33 million litres per day. For kerosene, the Committee recommends a daily ordering quantity of 9 million litres.

GridLock Jonathan And The Baggage Rule by Sonala Olumhense
In 2009, millions of Nigerians joined in objecting to the refusal of President Umaru Yar’Adua to hand power over to his deputy, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan. I numbered among the disgruntled, and in this column, I urged the Yar’Adua team to do the right thing and obey our constitutional arrangements.
When one reviews Nigeria’s history since then—and then prior to that—it seems that Mr. Jonathan, during that time, must have been laughing his head off in his living room at what we were doing. The incredulity of it: Millions yelling and crying because we believed that Mr. Yar’Adua and the cabal—that was when that word became such a dirty annoyance—were betraying the nation and cheating Mr. Jonathan out of his legal
Northern Leaders Say The North Is Ready For Break Up
Northern leaders have called their southern counterparts’ bluff, insisting that the North will survive in the event of a break-up of Nigeria.
The call for a review of the national revenue formula by the Northern Governors’ Forum and their Southern Governors’ Forum counterparts’ demand for fiscal federalism and resource control as well as calls for a national conference by many in the South have escalated tensions in the country.
But the northern leaders, under the auspices of the Arewa Elders Forum on Wednesday, said the North could stand on its own in a divided Nigeria.
