BREAKING NEWS: Italian Seria B Palyer Slumps and Dies During Football Match
Piermario Morosini as medical team tried to save him on the field
Hospital officials say Livorno midfielder Piermario Morosini has died after suffering cardiac arrest during a Serie B match at Pescara. He was 25.
Edoardo De Blasio, a cardiologist at Pescara's Santo Spirito hospital in Italy, confirmed the death Saturday. He says "unfortunately he was already dead when he arrived at hospital. He didn't regain consciousness."
Morosini, who was on loan from Udinese, fell to the ground in the 31st minute of the match. A defibrillator was used on the player.
May his soul rest in peace and my heart goes to his family and team mates.
