Daily Trust has reported that a man, identified as Jim Zaccheus, who allegedly killed his girlfriend and buried her in his room has been arrested by the Rivers State police command in Elechi beach waterfront in Mile 1 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa who disclosed this during his maiden press briefing to newsmen in Port Harcourt, said the suspect, would be charged to court.
Sources have disclosed that the suspect has been suspicious of the deceased who was identified as Peace
Mathias over a new hair style she made and demanded to know the source of her money, a situation that led to a brawl between the two bird love.
Very furious with her explanation, Zaccheus was said to have beaten her to a state of coma, just as she died in the process, although it was not clear if he used any object on the victim.
Frightened over his action, the suspect carefully dug a hole in his one room and hurriedly buried the girl. He thereafter rushed to buy a mattress which he used to cover the shallow grave he had dug, apparently to conceal any race of suspicion.
But, it was said that neighbours had suspected the movements of the suspect, couple with a strong stench that was coming out of the room and had alerted security operatives who forced the door open and exhumed the victim’s decomposing body.
