Another Fire Tragedy Averted, As NNPC Fuel Tanker Skids Off Road In Abuja

According to Premium Times reports, tragedy was averted, Thursday, as a petrol tanker, belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), had burst tyres and skidded off the main road on the Mabushi bridge, Abuja.
The tanker was fully loaded with petrol and leaked its content.
Police officers and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) promptly arrived at the scene of the
accident, to divert human and vehicular traffic from the scene. Firemen, who also arrived early, were seen spraying dispersants on the tanker and also on the floor.
An official of the fire service told PREMIUM TIMES at the scene of the accident that they are “working right away to evacuate the vehicle from the bridge.”
