On Wednesday a red mini bus used the BRT lane along Oyingbo and was stopped by men of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). The occupants of the bus turned out to be students of Yaba College Of Technology (YabaTech), the eight occupants of the bus resisted arrest by LASTMA officials who wanted to impound their bus and later started what could have turned out to a bloody fight but for the intervention of Policemen at Oyingbo.
The students reportedly allowed the bus to be taken away by the LASTMA officials, but decided to retaliate on Thursday by abducted another LASTMA official somewhere in Jibowu area of Lagos. According to Punch reports, two separate buses conveyed the students to LASTMA Zone 15 Office, Iponri, and vandalised four impounded vehicles in the office. Three other LASTMA officials within the building were injured by the rampaging student, the abducted LASTMA official was still not released as the yesterday evening.
