Ms. Bolanle Ayodele Onagoruwa, the Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), has been relieved of her appointment by President Goodluck Jonathan. Ms. Onagoruwa who was appointed by President Jonathan in August 2010, is to hand over to the most senior management staff, Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dike, who will serve in acting capacity.
A newly formed Islamic sect has claimed responsibility for the attack on Police headqauters yesterday, the sect named The Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-sudan (JAMBS) sent an email to Desert Herald, claiming responsibilty for the attack and that they will attack more police formations in the country. According to Punch newspaper reports, gunmen attacked the First Baptist Church in Sango Ota, Ogun State, killing two worshippers and injuring four others on Saturday. The report further stated that the robbers, whose number could not be ascertained, were said to have stormed the church about 10:50pm and opened fire on the worshippers. The injured were reportedly taken to the State Hospital, Ota where two of them died, while four others are still lying critically ill.

Update On Boko Haram Attack On Police Headqauters In Abuja This Morning, 30 Detainees Rescued By The Gunmen, Some Rearrested Others On The Run
Contrary to earlier reports that no detainee was rescued by suspected Boko Haram gunmen who stormed Abuja head office of the Nigerian police force (Special Anti Robbery Squad), there are confirmed reports that the gunmen successfully rescued 30 detainees. Although policemen on duty were galant, as they justified why they should still be earniong tax payers' money by fighting back. Police authorities have reportedly re-arrested 25 of the rescued detainees while 5 others are currently on the run. Also a police inspector lost his life in the attack, as he was shot dead by the attackers.

There are confirmed reports that gunmen, early Monday, attacked the headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Abuja leading to a shoot-out for many hours. The men are believed to be members of the Boko Haram who attempted to free their members being held by the police. The reports further indicates that policemen gallantly faught back and reppelled the attack by the gunmen who came well prepared.

Former Chairman of Ikeja Local Government area of Lagos State, Toyin Hamzat has been murdered. Toyin Hamzat was reportedly murdered on his way to his Sagamu residence after a party in Lagos. There are also reports that nothing was touched in his car after he was shot in the head by unknown gunmen. I will bring you more update on this as they emerge.

He is an employee of Access Bank, Femi Badejo, who was allegedly shot alongside a security guard, Joshua Musa, by policemen on Saturday at Ikota, Lagos, still has a bullet lodged in his wrist. He died yesterday evening at Parklane Hospital, Enugu where he reportedly had been receiving treatment for over four months for a leg infection. Clash Between Okada Riders And Policemen Leave 9 People Injured And A Police Station Burnt In Ibadan
The lawlessness associated with some commercial motorcycle operators popularly called okada riders surface in Ibadan Oyo state today, as nine people were injured, a police station at Kuola, Apata was set ablaze and cars and motorcycles in the police station were set on fire by the okada riders. Trouble reportedly started when one okada rider was arrested by policemen for carrying two passengers and was taken to the police station, only for his co riders to storm the station, hurl stones at the station and eventually burn down the whole police station. seven policemen were and two okada riders were reportedly injured in the incident which lasted for three hours.

A 2-year-old boy has been mauled to death by wild dogs at Pittsburgh zoo after his mother dangled him over the railings. The dogs reportedly developed park mentality, as they could not be stopped by zookeepers who fired darts at them.
