No Student Was Raped - Ogun State Police Command

The Ogun State Police Command has denied media reports that some passengers on an East-bound journey were hijacked at Ogere area of the state at the weekend and raped. Police Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday, said that the rape angle to the story published in some national newspapers was not true. He said, “The attention of the Ogun State Police Command has been drawn to a publication by the Daily Sun Newspaper of 2nd April 2012 edition Page 6 Captioned “Robbers
hijack luxury bus, rape students. “The Command wishes to inform the general public that the story of rape as reported in the newspaper is not true for the victims did not make such statement or complaint to the police and our men at the scene did not see any sign of such.”

My own contribution is, the fact that there were no reports or complaints does not mean the crime did not take place. The Police command should please investigate and not just come to this conclusion, it will be more damaging to the victims if they hear this. I have not said it really did happen, but has the police really investigated this before their comments?
