In Calabar Solomon Ezukwa has been condemned to die by hanging by a High court, for shooting shooting his step brother with a locally made single barrel gun. The incident took place in Aliki village in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State. According to Solomon, his step brother Joseph Banyio (deceased) first attacked him with machete. Solomon said that he had to defend himself after he sustained machete cuts from his step brother's attack.
According to Soloman Ezekwa while trying to defend himself in court “When the argument ensued, it was my brother that ran into the house and brought out a machete which he used to hit me several times. I then went into the house and brought out a gun to defend myself,” he said.
