A tiny puppy named Beyonce, not much bigger than a business card, has defied odds by surviving. At a day old, Beyonce could fit in a tablespoon. Now, at a little more than 2 weeks old, weighs 4 ounces and is no bigger than an iPhone - setting the new world record for the Smallest puppy, according to World Records Academy. At one day old, Beyonce was so small she could fit into a spoon. Due to her small size, Beyonce needed to be bottle fed every hour because her mouth was too small to be able to nurse properly. Now at almost two weeks old Beyonce is almost as big as an iphone.

According to Beth DeCaprio, the executive director of the Grace Foundation -- the El Dorado Hills organization that is currently caring for Beyoncé -- the dog has managed to cheat death on four different occasions.

She was almost killed in utero when her pregnant mother -- a stray -- was found by animal control and was scheduled to have her puppies aborted.

Luckily for little Beyoncé, her mother's pregnancy was too far along. Her mother was then scheduled to be euthanized, but the Grace Foundation stepped in and agreed to take her in.

Five days later, on March 8th, Casey delivered her puppies, with Beth Decaprio, Executive Director of The Grace Foundation and Casey's foster mom, and Dr. Michael Russell, Grace Foundation veterinarian, standing by.

When Beyoncé was born -- the last of five siblings -- she wasn't breathing and did not have a heartbeat. She had to be given CPR and was eventually resuscitated.

The puppy barely survived being born on March 8, needing mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions from veterinarian Dr. Michael Russell in the first minutes of her life.

Now a little bigger and a little stronger, Beyoncé -- who was named after the song 'Survivor' -- is winning the fight to survive.
