Northern Leaders demands for the Derivation money that goes to Niger Delta

Rising from their meeting yesterday which was about the situation of the country, Northern Nigerian leaders under the umbrella of Concerned Northern Leaders came up with a communique, part of which states that the 13% derivation money that is paid to South South should be given to the North instead. Their reason was that the Niger Delta leaders can not effectively manage such huge funds.
I think we should start redefining "leaders" in the part of the world, as an African young man I was brought up to believe that leaders are always looked upon whenever there are issues that needs wisdom to be resolved amicably, but lately what I am getting from supposed leaders from this part of the world baffles me. perhaps they do not understand the situation of the country presently, or will I say they do not know that Nigeria's continued unity is dependent on the level of guidance displayed by these youths in tackling issues that are critically affecting this nation? I do not want to be insulting, but they have just insulted some elders from another part of the country, abi they don't know that is the meaning of their statement?.

Another thing that formed part of their communique is that, the people that owned lands in Abuja before the state became FCT were not duly compensated and that they have been "internally displaced" I want to keep quiet at this point because I am presently disappointed, because these are the people we expect to take us out of the present situation we have found ourselves.
