SHOCKER: EXmilitants get more than Health sector in 2012 Budget

The recently passed 2012 Appropriation Act would ordinarily make one think that things are getting better because of its speedy passage, but a break down of the budget scares me and wakes me to reality that it is still party as usual. In a show of gross insensitivity and nonchalance to the critical sectors of our economy, the amount allocated for Post Amnesty of ex-militants is more than what was allocated to our health sector that needs urgent attention. Below is a break down of the critical parts of the budget.

Post Amnesty for ex-militants              N66,176,411,902
Health Sector                                     N60,920,219,702
NDDC                                               N48,672,424,630
Education Sector                                N66,000,000,000
Power Sector                                     N75,000,000,000
Transport Sector                                N89,000,000,000
Water Resources                               N75,000,000,000

The above break down shows that the total sum allocated to both ex militants and NDDC which totals N114,000,000,000 is more than those of the Education, Power, Transport and Water resources Sectors of our economy. As a youth I am scared of my future in this country.
