Nigeria, South Africa diplomatic face off....What they failed to tell us

                    President Jonathan                          Senator Ndoma Egba

Like every other Nigerian I was very happy to hear the pay back given to South Africans coming into this country, I was happy because I felt that for once my leaders have decided to start protecting the interest of ordinary Nigerians in every part of the world. I was already thinking of maltreatment given to Nigerians in several other countries of the world, and the insults passed on us even here in Nigeria by embassy officials of the countries. For me, embassies of UK, USA, Germany,  Canada and several other European countries, would soon stop taking us for granted.
Only to find out that the chest flaunting of government officials over the deportation of 125 Nigerians by South African authorities, was because a serving senator was amongst those repatriated from South Africa. This revelation got me upset at first, by I later came to my senses that why would I be surprised? especially when I found out that the repatriated Senator is a leader of the Senate. So what if he was not part of those deported? what if it was just people like you and I that were sent packing from South Africa? Would the authorities in Nigeria have done what they did? would they have threatened to bring down the sky if South Africa did not apologise? Before now Nigerians have been humiliated by foreign airlines and embassy officials, has anybody threatened them? How many Nigerians are being wrongfully deported from other countries on a daily basis, and nobody is asking questions? Please, please please and please my people let us not be fooled, nothing has changed they only used the face off as opportunity to score cheap political points.
