According to Sky news reports, a Welsh backpacker has been charged with setting fire to a man dressed as an Egyptian mummy at a party in Australia. The 31-year-old French tourist had turned up at a hostel in
Sydney wrapped in toilet paper, and suffered serious burns when he was set alight. He was taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital on Saturday night with 11% burns to his body, and is said to be in a stable condition. A spokesman for the hospital said he would have to undergo skin grafts to his upper back, neck, and right arm. Police arrested the 30-year-old Briton after he walked into a police station in the Manly area of the city on Sunday. He was questioned and then charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.
