Gunmen Kidnapped And Killed Head Teacher, Threatening to Kill Other Family Members

I found this news report on Vanguard newspaper and feel I should not make my own verson of it, so I decided to bring it to your attention exactly the way it was reported.

RELATIONS of Mr. Eugene Orlu-Orlu, of Ubima in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, who died recently in the hands of suspected kidnappers, have sent an SOS to Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the Police in the state over alleged threats to their lives by the suspected killers. The family, which disclosed this at Ubima last weekend, said those who allegedly killed Orlu- Orlu, a retired head teacher, had been sending repeated text messages threatening lives of other members of the family.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Luke Orlu-Orlu, stressed that one of the suspected killers informed some family members of determination to kill the first son of their brother after government declared the suspects wanted.
He said: “Governor Amaechi, who is a son of Ubima, must not relent in ensuring the arrest of all those connected with the death of our brother. It is strange that those of them still at large have the boldness to threaten the killing his first son.
“The young man is barely recovering from the murder of his father. The governor must hear this and act fast.”
Thanking the governor and Police for earlier interventions which resulted in the arrest of some of the kidnap suspects, Luke urged security agencies not to relent until the prime suspect, believed to be sending the death threats, was apprehended.
It would be recalled that Orlu-Orlu, a retired School Head in Ikwerre Local Government area, was abducted recently by gunmen who demanded his retirement gratuity as ransom.
The victim, who is reportedly diabetic, died in the hands of the kidnappers before he was found by the police and family members.
