Eyewitnesses told journalists that as they approached the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Roundabout, a few metres to the spot, they saw people running in different directions.
“I just had to follow suit. I had to run towards the Mogadishu Layout where there were soldiers. As I got there, I heard that somebody just abandoned his car and started running with nobody pursuing him in particular,” a resident said.
It was learnt that workers in the building and those within the premises made a distress call to the police who arrived at the building three hours after and scanned the said car (metallic Camry) without finding an explosive or any incriminating item.
A few hours later, the owner of the car appeared and was apprehended by the police.
