I reported a story about a Nigerian family (Igbo) in New York that perished in a car crash when they were returning from a function some weeks ago. These are pictures from their wake keeping ceremony here in Nigeria. According to a Naira Land contact who took these pictures, the ceremony began with testimonials written by people who personally knew the family. After that, representatives of several organizations (including Arondizuogu
Patriotic Union Houston Branch, Nzuko Arochukwu NY/NJ/CT, All Aro USA, Igbo Catholic Community, and the Nigerian Nurses Association) each donated large sums of money in order to help send the bodies of the victims back to Nigeria for burial. After that, they all paid their respects. I am impressed and pray that God bless all those who contributed to ensure that the family had a befitting burial here in Nigeria, may God keep their families safe and continue to provide for them.
