The Central Bank has cautioned the Senate to drop the idea of scrapping its autonomy. This advise came from the Deputy Governor of the Apex bank on economic policy Dr Sarah Omotunde Alade at a public hearing organised by Senate committee on Banking Insurance and other Financial Institutions. She further stated that Nigeria's CBN is not the only Apex bank that enjoys autonomy, that other Central Banks enjoys same world wide.

Interfering in the autonomy of CBN will drag it far behind. The legislators should please do other things with their time. there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed and they are not talking about it.leave CBN, and face SLS as a peson when he is tthrough with his tenure. its high time our lawmaker stop chasing rats when the house is on fire.
