Full Implementation Of The Budget Is Impossible - Okonjo-Iweala

                                  

Following the threat by the House of Representatives that the President would be impeached of the 2012 budget is not fully implemented, the coordinating Minister of the economy, Okonjo-Iweala has said that full implementation of the budget is impossible. The Minister for Finance spoke who said this after yesterday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, she said 56 percent of budgetary allocations has been released to ministries, departments and agencies of government as at July 20.

Okonjo-Iweala said full implementation cannot be achieved even by the end of the fiscal year saying, “Nowhere in the world can you achieve 100 per cent even by year end. Mr President is determined to implement the budget as much as possible. You can see that there’s no lack of efforts. By September, the National Assembly will know that a good effort has been made for the country as we go on month by month review.”
