Task Force Officers Kill Makoko Traditional Ruler

                              

A traditional ruler in Makoko area of Lagos, was shot dead by men of Task Force sent to demolish shanties in the area. Timothy Agbe who was the Itun-baale of Egun Makoko, was killed while trying to prevent the officers from setting some property in the coastal community ablaze. According to Eye witness account, the traditional ruler died instantly, his death infuriated some residents who immediately mobilised to drive the men of the Task Force out of the area. There also reports that Timothy Agbe and other elders of the area went to men of the Task Force when they noticed that houses that were not marked for demolition were demolished and were going to be set ablaze.
