A 22 year old girl named Ruqia hanged herself because she was asked to marry someone she did not love in Afghanistan. She hanged herself at home, just a month to the arranged wedding. The incident happened last week in the Lal Sarjangal district of the Ghor province of Afghanistan.The girl was going to be married to a
person whose sister had wed her brother. Na wa oo, must she be forced to marry a man she knows nothing about? or the man she does not love? Now that she is dead, I hope other families who are doing this will have a rethink.
