There was a report by Vanguard newspaper that, one Mrs. Gladys Emafuru, female, of Okunu village Jesse, reported to the police that at 15:10 hours, while sleeping with her eight-day- old baby girl, the child’s step father (names withheld) 24 years old, walked into the apartment and killed the baby with a cutlass, opened the stomach and collected the intestines and other vital parts. The gory incident took place in Jesse, Delta State.
The report also suggested that Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed the incident that "the suspect after collecting the vital parts of the baby, concealed them in a black cellophane bag and was about escaping to Ghana when he was caught. He has confessed committing the act, saying that it was demanded for in Ghana"
