Man Exonorated After Spending 21 Years In Prison For A Crime He Did Not Commit

Jacques Rivera Chicago Exonerated Police Lawsuit

Jacques Rivera spent 21 years in prison for a murder crime he did not commit in 1998. Rivera was jailed for 80 years in a maximum security prison, but he has been set free 21 years after he was sent to prison as the purported only eye witness to the crime recanted his testimony that identified Rivera as the killer of Felix
Valentin. Felix Valentin was a gang member who was killed in 1998.

The eyewitness Orlando Lopez, was only 12 years old when he testified against Rivera in court. Rivera has since sued the Chicago Police Department for the injustice meted out on him by the state. I just hope this guy can get back his life and the things he lost.
