According to reports by Nigerian Compass, city of Ilorin was shocked to discover that a suspect in handcuffs disappeared from police custody early this week in very bizarre circumstances, leaving many wondering what was amiss as a policeman has been remanded in prison for alleged involvement in armed robbery. Offa who was expelled for alleged involvement in anti-social behaviour had been picked by security operatives for allegedly selling a rifle to another suspect, who is being held by the police.
The newspaper further reported that sources said he was picked up in his residence at Agbo-Ile in the Offa Garage area of Ilorin but he escaped while the police were still preparing papers for his appearance in court. The suspect was said to be a son of a traditional chief in the area.
