20 Wedding Guests Feared Dead In Ogun Auto Crash

An auto crash occurred early Saturday, along Kobape-Abeokuta dual carriage road, in Ogun State with about 20 people feared dead. The accident occurred at about 7.30a.m., when a truck with a Lagos registration number JJJ 489XB swerved from its lane and rammed unto a capacity-filled Toyota Hiace passenger bus moving in opposite direction.

The 20 occupants of the bus, all feared dead, are believed to be members of the African Church Solution Camp, Ewang Estate, Abeokuta. They were on their way to attend a wedding and left in a convoy with other vehicles before the accident occurred.

Their bus, marked Lukdos Transport, had left its take-off point and was travelling past Ototo village, located between a radio station, Paramount F.M, and a police computer college, when the truck driver lost control and caused the havoc.

Many of the victims were reported to have died on the spot following the impact of the collision, while others died at the hospital. A 2-year old girl said to be among the victims sustained head injuries and was still receiving treatment at the state hospital as at the time of this report.
